This year, the American Kidney Fund will host its flagship event, Kidney Action Week, to educate the public on kidney disease and prevention in a virtual format.
Each year, the American Kidney Fund (AKF) hosts Kidney Action Week—their flagship event to educate the public on kidney disease and the importance of screening and prevention, which centers around their nationwide screening program, Kidney Action Day.* The event will be from today, Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18. It will be held online to allow everyone access to the week’s activities, including cooking and fitness demonstrations.
You won’t want to miss out on the live Congressional briefing on September 16 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (ET), titled “Stark Health Disparities in COVID-19 Pandemic.” The briefing features Congresswoman Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-CA-44) and former Congresswoman Donna M. Christensen, M.D. (D-VI), in addition to other prominent guests. It will focus on factors that have contributed to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color.
