Kidney stones can be a reoccurring, painful experience that can leave many feeling helpless. However, there are possible ways to treat them at home. Learn ten home remedies that may help you or a loved one facing kidney stones.
- Staying hydrated and consuming water often may help to pass and prevent kidney stones. It is recommended that you drink eight to 12 cups of water. Moreover, monitor your urine color as a light, pale yellow indicates you are hydrated, while a dark yellow could indicate dehydration.
- Add lemon juice to your food and beverages to help break down the kidney stone. While a large amount of lemon juice would be needed to make a significant impact, the citrate from the lemon does help to break down small stones and prevent calcium-based stones from forming.
